An AI chatbot for your online store

A shopper is browsing your catalogue but needs help choosing a product or finding delivery information. ChatbotNest helps them find answers from your website through a conversation, without searching the entire store.

How can a chatbot help shoppers?

The assistant uses the public store content you index in your dashboard. It can explain product differences described in your catalogue, point to a relevant category and direct shoppers to the right page. Answers can include sources so visitors can check the details themselves.

  • Product selection: a conversation about a shopper's needs, grounded in the descriptions and specifications you provide.
  • Delivery and returns: help finding the policies, timeframes and instructions published by your store.
  • Contact with your team: capture an enquiry or hand the conversation to a human consultant when someone needs personal help.

For example, a shopper asks, “I need a backpack for a day hike.” If your descriptions include capacity and intended use, the assistant can help compare options. It cannot replace missing product information or a live inventory connection.

Prepare your store knowledge

Enter your website address and index the pages shoppers need. Start with your main categories, product descriptions, delivery options, returns policy and contact details. Check that each source is up to date and understandable without extra context.

Website content is a knowledge base, not a connection to your order system. Adding a widget alone does not give the assistant access to private orders, customer accounts or real-time stock levels. Offer those answers only if you have a separate, appropriately secured integration.

When your offer changes, refresh the knowledge in your dashboard and test questions about prices, availability and purchase terms again. Frequently changing prices and promotions need particular attention.

From testing to a live store

  1. Create an account and a chatbot, then prepare its knowledge sources.
  2. Match its appearance, greeting and instructions to your store's brand.
  3. Try actual customer questions in your dashboard, including questions your website cannot answer.
  4. Verify your domain, publish your assistant and add the script to your website.

If your store uses WordPress or WooCommerce, follow our WordPress chatbot installation guide. Installation uses a script rather than a dedicated ChatbotNest WooCommerce plugin.

Check whether it helps

Prepare a list of common questions before launch. Once the assistant is live, review conversations to check whether answers match your offer, link to the right pages and make contacting your team straightforward. Improve the sources wherever customers need more information.

AI can make mistakes. Give clear instructions for unanswered questions and situations that need a consultant. Our customer support chatbot guide explains how to organise that handoff.
